Capital Institute has been training therapists in advanced cognitive-behavioral and integrative therapy skills for over 15 years. Dr. Stephen Holland, the Institute’s Director, is certified by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies as a Trainer and Consultant. He is a frequent presenter at major conferences and continuing education programs. Many members of our clinical team are involved in cutting edge research, publish scholarly articles or books, present at conferences and/or train other professionals.
Capital Institute offers a Postdoctoral Fellowship program. Fellows receive expert-level training and supervision in empirically supported cognitive-behavioral and integrative psychotherapy while accumulating hours for licensure. Most of our prior Fellows have chosen to remain as full staff members after earning their license. Applications are accepted annually beginning in November. The Tara Thompson-Guldseth Memorial Externship Program offers a 16-hour/week psychotherapy training program for current graduate students in APA approved doctoral programs in clinical psychology. Applications are accepted annually beginning in December. Dr. Thompson-Guldseth served for many years as Training Director of the Institute.

The Institute offers individual case consultation for cognitive-behavioral and integrative treatment. Consultation may be scheduled for a single session, intermittently or on a regular basis.

As part of our ongoing commitment to community outreach and dissemination, we are pleased to offer workshops and presentations at your facility. Presentations can be tailored in length and content, depending on the needs of your organization.
Presentations for General Audiences
We are also available to present to non-professional audiences on topics related to mental health and psychotherapy. We have experience tailoring presentations to the specific needs of organizations.
