At Capital Institute we believe in a disciplined integration that honors the importance of empirically-supported treatment protocols but also recognizes that there is more to therapy and life than can be tested in a clinical trial. This allows us to draw on a wider range of ways of understanding your experience and providing help.
Integrative approaches can be particularly useful when patients find that they have trouble implementing standard CBT treatment or they don’t get the full benefit they wish. Integrative therapy can also be useful when people want to go beyond relieving symptoms to address larger issues of relationships, work and meaning in their life.
Dr. Holland has written and presented on integrative therapy and has long been an active member of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy integration (SEPI).
