Background

Stephen J.F. Holland was named one of the top therapists in the Washington, D.C., area by Washingtonian magazine. He is an internationally recognized expert on empirically supported cognitive-behavioral treatments and is co-author of Treatment Plans and Interventions for Depression and Anxiety Disorders, a widely used textbook. He has also written a number of articles, chapters and presentations on cognitive-behavioral and integrative psychotherapy. He frequently presents at major conferences and continuing education programs for professionals. A graduate of Dartmouth College, New York University and Rutgers University, Dr. Holland has served on the faculties of the doctoral programs at Columbia University and the American School of Professional Psychology. He is a member of the Board of Directors and a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, the international organization that provides accreditation for cognitive-behavioral therapists, and is certified by the Academy as a Trainer and Consultant. Dr. Holland routinely consults with all therapists at the Institute.
