Background

Maria Hays, Psy.D. (Postdoctoral Fellow), is a graduate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Intercommunity Action in Philadelphia, PA, where she provided treatment and assessments of children and adults diagnosed with a range of mental health disorders including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other trauma related disorders. Dr. Hays has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with youth anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and ASD, at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has also completed training in the provision of gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals from The Fenway Institute, one of the world’s largest health centers focused on LGBTQIA+ communities. Dr. Hays utilizes a flexible and collaborative CBT approach with a patient-centered focus that is tailored to the individual’s treatment goals. She enjoys spending time with her family and jogging with her dog, Jax. Dr. Hays is licensed as a Psychology Associate in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.
