Julio J. Fonseca

New Patient Coordinator

Background

Julio J. Fonseca, he/him/el, is the New Patient Coordinator at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, responsible for managing new patient inquiries and facilitating their access to care. Concurrently, Julio is pursuing his doctoral studies in Clinical Professional Psychology at The George Washington University, where he also serves as an extern at the GW Center Clinic. In addition to his professional and academic roles, Julio volunteers as a mentor (in English and Spanish) at Whitman-Walker Health for individuals newly diagnosed with HIV. Furthermore, Julio contributes as a Columnist for the Quarterly Online Journal, The Group Psychologist, and The Evidence-Based Group Treatment Website. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from George Mason University, Julio is LGBTQ+ affirming and deeply committed to mental health and substance abuse awareness and supportive community engagement.
