Background

Diane Lameira, Ph.D., is a graduate from George Mason University. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in Adult Health Psychology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where she conducted pre-surgical evaluations for candidates of advanced pain treatments and lung, heart, kidney, and liver transplants. In addition, Dr. Lameira has experience in providing gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals and providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to adults with depression, generalized anxiety, and chronic medical conditions including insomnia, chronic pain, and pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Lameira also previously worked as an extern at the Capital Institute where she was trained in using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Dr. Lameira uses a warm and collaborative approach in therapy to help clients meet their goals and foster empowerment. She has a special interest in helping individuals with chronic medical conditions live more fulfilling lives. Dr. Lameira is licensed as a Psychologist in Washington D.C. and Virginia, and as a psychology associate in Maryland.
