Giulia Suro, Ph.D., CEDS
Giulia Suro is a graduate of Columbia University and University of Miami. She completed her doctoral internship at the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She did her postdoctoral fellowship at the Oliver Pyatt Centers for eating disorder treatment, where she subsequently served as a therapist and Clinical Director for Day Treatment Programs. In 2017 she became a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Dr. Suro’s areas of clinical expertise include eating disorders, trauma, and severe mental illness. She specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral approach that promotes relating to thoughts and feelings in a more mindful and compassionate way. In 2019, she published an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy workbook titled Learning to Thrive. She enjoys helping clients clarify what is most important and meaningful to them, and using that knowledge to create lasting change. Dr. Suro sees patients in our Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD offices.
